Hey Everyone!
So, today I am doing a post on no bake treats! These treats are great for the holidays and are simple to make. Plus you can put them into a cute tin or mug and add a bit of ribbon and it makes the perfect holiday gift! :) So, I am going to explain how to make peppermint bark and chocolate cookie squares.
*Both of these recipes are from http://www.kraftcanada.
Peppermint Bark
This is a VERY yummy Christmas treat :) It is basically white chocolate and peppermint, what's a better combination than that?? (Well...maybe peanut butter and jelly is, but you get my point, haha).
What you are going to need:
3 packages of Bakers White Chocolate
1 Cup of crushed candy canes
(to crush the candy canes you can either put them in a blender or hit them with a spoon)
How to make it:
Microwave the chocolate for 4 minutes, or until it is completely melted.
Then poor the chocolate on waxed paper-covered baking sheet and sprinkle the crushed candy cane on top. Then put it in the fridge for around one hour or until hard.
Break it into pieces and eat! :)
Chocolate Cookie Squares
This is my favourite recipe out of the two. My family makes this a lot and on Christmas eve we always eat it <3 It is also pretty easy like the one above.
What you are going to need:
1 package of bakers chocolate (semi-sweet)
1/2 cup of butter
8 cookies, the reicpe recommends Dad's oatmeal cookies or Oreo, but I think any kind of cookie would be good :)
1/4 cup chopped nuts
How to make it:
Cut the chocolate and put it in a microwaveable bowl with the butter. Microwave for 2 minutes or until it is melted. Stir.
Break the cookies and add to the chocolate mix with the nuts. Mix it together.
Put the mix into a foil-lined square pan. Then put it into the fridge for 1 hour or until firm. Cut it into squares.
You want to keep this in the fridge though, that way it won't melt :)
They are so yummy, right? But overall, I think this would be a great treat for a party or hanging with friends (or those late night cravings!).
Hope you enjoyed this post! :)
Happy Holidays! And for those of you who celebrate Christmas have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
